Choose Document > Security > Restrict Opening and Editing
• In the password Security dialog box, select which version of Acrobat is required
to read the document. In this example, we select “Acrobat 5.0 or later”
• Select “Require a Password to Open the Document”
then click OK
• Type the same password to confirm, and then click OK
• Choose File > Save and save the file with the same name and close it.
• When you open the file again, it will ask for password.
• If you type in the wrong password, you will be asked to try again. If the password
is correct, the document will be opened without any problem. But, if you forget
the password you will not be able to open the PDF document.
