pemière leçon: Articles définies
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
La première leçon : Articles définies
The first lesson: definite articles
Definite articles: in English we have only one definite article which is: the but it is not the some thing in French where we find three different articles definite: la; le; les.
Why? Because in French there is a feminine word and a masculine word
Example:
Feminine French word:
Bague : (ring ) is a feminine word in French so we use the article: la
As result we have
la bague = the ring
masculine French word:
livre: (book) is a masculine word in French so we use the article : le
As result we have
Le livre = the book
It means that we use the article: la with the feminine word and the article: le with the masculine word in French but in English we always use one definite article: the
It is also a different in plural in French because we use in the plural the third definite article which is: les for boot feminine and masculine words
Ex:
Les bagues = the rings
Les livres = the books
Now Let us recapitulate : in French we use three different kind of definite articles which are:
La :with feminine word
Le: with masculine word
Les : in the plural whether the word is feminine or masculine
I hope that I was Clair if you have any questions don’t hesitate . I’m here for you.
Wait me for the next lesson about indefinite articles.
Take care
